All the traditional problems of rotaries
are overcome with the ROTAFLO™ platform. The traditional
problems of wear and tear on rollers and bearings have been eliminated.
The platform is made entirely of a proven special specification
concrete, which is additionally reinforced and placed in one
operation to give a solid structure.
This economical and durable material, which
is traditionally basic to dairy construction, can now eliminate
rust problems associated with rotaries.
CONCRETE DECK
The deck is constructed of reinforced concrete and held up off
the platform by support posts. Cows take to this deck very
quickly as they are used to walking on concrete surfaces. This
Concrete Deck also adds to the very quiet running of the ROTAFLO™.
WATER-LEVEL, USE AND RECYCLING
The ROTAFLO™ platform floats on approximately 200mm of
water. This represents some 20 to 60,000 litres depending on
the size of the ROTAFLO™. This water reserve can be utilized
in many ways. It can be used as the shed and yard wash down water,
whatever water is used being replaced between milking. If for
any reason the water supply fails, the ROTAFLO™ will still
be operable because the water removed does not alter drastically
the floating level of the platform. The trough can also be used
to receive water from the milk cooler either recycled or fresh
incoming water.
