The U40 Computer Controlled Feeder For
Calves is designed to automatically mix milk (calf milk replacer
or whole milk) and to control the feeding process in a way that
each calf receives its own ration. It only requires connection
to a grounded socket (230V/16A) and a water supply between 2
and 4 bar pressure. The daily milk intake for each calf then
depends on a feeding curve set on the Primus computer. The weaning
period is fully controlled. The hoses between the feeder and
the feeding station are installed as a ring system. In this way
the hoses can be cleaned automatically up to three times per
day. At the end of the cleaning program all components are rinsed
with clean water. Because of this system the milk in the hoses
is kept warm and in winter freezing is avoided by a regular circulation.
A float in the mixing tank measures exactly the milk consumption
of each calf. If a small calf is driven out of the feeding station
by a bigger one, the computer only subtracts the quantity of
milk consumed from the daily amount programmed for that calf.
